3. Consumer convenience
As more and more consumers are living an increasingly busy and tense life, they have no time to start cooking from scratch, but choose a convenient meal method instead. Ready to eat meals with new flexible packaging have become the preferred product by making full use of the current social and economic trends.
By 2020, compared with unpackaged agricultural products, the consumption of packaged fresh meat, fish and poultry will increase at a faster rate. This trend is due to consumers’ demand for more convenient solutions and the growing dominance of large supermarkets that can provide packaged food with longer shelf life.
In the past decade, with the increasing number of supermarkets and hypermarkets, especially developing markets, and the increasing demand of consumers for convenient products such as pre-cooking, pre simmering or pre-cutting, the consumption of refrigerated food has steadily increased. The growth of pre-cut products and high-end series promoted the growth of MAP packaging demand. The demand for frozen food is also driven by a variety of fast food, fresh pasta, seafood and meat, and a trend towards more convenient food, which is purchased by time conscious consumers.
4. Biological derivation and biodegradation technology
In the past few years, many new products of bio based plastic packaging have emerged. As PLA, PHA and PTMT are the most promising materials in real material reaction and TPS film in petroleum substitution, the scale of bio based plastic film will continue to expand.
